Tips On Waking Up Earlier In the Day

Sometimes you need to get up early in the day. There are ways you can become an earlier rise without rationalizing things.

1) Try to wake up 15-20 minutes prior to when you normally get up. Set your alarm for the time. This is a great way to get into the habit. Try it that way for a few days to see how it goes. You can start to reduce the time to 15 minutes as you get more comfortable with the idea. Your body and brain need time to get used to it, especially if you are not a morning person.

2) Go to sleep earlier. That means you have to put away the tv remote and shut down the computer earlier. That gives your brain time to adjust. Your mind and body have an easier time falling asleep when it is not around electronic devices.

3) Do not sit around in bed after your alarm wakes you up. I am not a morning person. I am sure there are a lot of you who are the same way. Get out of bed and go straight to the bathroom. It works. I have tried it. Your body has no choice but to wake up when you force yourself out of bed.

4) Keep your alarm away from your bed. You are more likely to shut it down and go to sleep if it is right next to you. Force yourself out of bed to turn it off. I have had to do that. It is not my favorite moment, but it is effective.
